OPTION 1 – WARSAW EXPRESS
2-hours walk around the historic centre of Warsaw, with the most important attractions of the city. The tour includes the Royal Route (Krakowskie Przedmieście), the Old City, The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Krasiński Square with the Monument to the Warsaw Uprising. Although the tours seems short, it gives a lot of possibilities to talk about various topics related to the history of the city. You’ll hear about the medieval origins of Warsaw, the reconstruction, the Second World War, Frederic Chopin, Marie Curie, Lech Wałęsa and others.
Duration: 2 hours
Price: 250 PLN for the entire group
OPTION 2 – Historic Centre and the Ghetto
During the 4 hours walk you will get to know the city pretty well. The walk is going to be divided into two topics: One would be the reconstruction of Warsaw, and the other would be the life and events that happened in the ghetto between 1940-1943. In the first part of the tour you will explore the Historic Centre of Warsaw: the Old City, the Royal Route (Krakowskie Przedmieście Street) - the most prestigious street of Warsaw. There, you will see in which church the heart of Chopin is buried, where the President of Poland lives, and also many monuments of the important Polish, like Nicolas Copernicus, for example. The Old City, which you will see after that, is a beautiful and fascinating part of the city, which literally was reborn from the ashes, like a phoenix. Today, visitors wandering around the streets wouldn’t guess that those old looking buildings are only 70 years old.
The last part of the tour is dedicated to the topic of the ghetto. You will see two parts of the ghetto: the small and the large one. Those two places that before were just an administration division, today are very different. The small ghetto, although not very touristic, remains authentic in some places. Come and see the still standing fragment of the wall of the ghetto, the old, original buildings that remember the ghetto times. The large ghetto, that you will see at the end, lacks the original buildings, but it’s full of the commemorations to the Jewish Uprising fighters. Seeing the monuments like the Umschlagplatz, Bunker Miła18 and the Monument to the Heroes of the Ghetto, you will understand the complex and difficult history of the Jewish extermination in the polish lands during the second world war.
Duration: 4 hours
